This Giving Tuesday, I invite you to stand with us in the fight to heal communities and support survivors of gun violence.
At Seize The Smoke, we know the devastating impact a single act of violence can have on an individual, a family, a school, and an entire community. Founded by a mother who turned unimaginable grief into action, Seize The Smoke has spent the last year providing trauma informed, culturally responsive support to individuals and families across Metro Detroit.
From tangible support like flowers, food, balloons, and financial assistance to standing alongside families at hospitals, courtrooms, memorials, and events honoring their lost children combined with youth scholarships, mental health resources, and violence prevention programs Seize The Smoke surrounds survivors with the meaningful care and support they need to heal and thrive
This Giving Tuesday, we’re asking our community to
help us raise $26,000 to support our critical work in
2026. Your donation will help us
Provide immediate support to families
(flowers, food, financial assistance)
Fund peer support groups and youth
violence prevention programs
Provide higher education stipends for
youth pursuing their dreams
Train survivors to become peer lead
ers and advocates
Keep peace & healing retreats and
memorial events accessible to all
Every dollar helps us move one step closer to a safer, more compassionate
Metro Detroit community
Thank you for believing in the power of healing, hope, and community. Together, we can break the cycle of violence, protect our children’s futures, and walk alongside survivors as they transform pain into purpose
You can still help by sharing our campaign. Every share makes a difference! With gratitude,

Seize The Smoke
Seize The Smoke Anti-Violence Advocacy, Awareness, and Prevention Organization proudly participated in the African American Leadership Institute’s Annual Juneteenth Unity Classic Softball Game — a powerful event commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.
Our team of young men joined in a FREEDOM-driven game, not just as players, but as living witnesses to history. They had the incredible opportunity to meet local judges, city council members, mayoral candidates, school board members, CVI activists, and many other community leaders who are working every day to shape a better future.
Though our team lost by one run, the true WIN was in the presence and celebration of Black Excellence, unity, and youth empowerment.
This game was played in honor and remembrance of our beloved teammate and brother, Khalil Amari Allen, who lost his life to gun violence on July 12, 2023. His spirit continues to inspire us all to advocate, lead, and rise above.
